Preschool Program Curriculum
This is a holistic fun-based program with a plethora of themes targeting the various “Child Development Domains” for promoting optimal growth in the early childhood of children. The activities will be planned based on the culture, needs, and events at the time. It will touch upon the *STREAM subjects appropriate to the age-group as per the standards set forth by the California Department of Education. The goal is to create a balance of Conventional (Modern) and Scriptural education.
*STREAM: Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts & Math
It is a unique trilingual program where the children will be exposed to three languages – English, Samskrit and Hindi. This is the best age where children easily are able to formulate the nuances required in the correct pronunciation of the letters in the different languages. Emphasis will also be placed on math (numbers, patterns, sorting, shapes, etc,), simple science facts, weather, planets, days of the week, months, seasons, nature and the world around, just to name a few examples. The children will be taught simple shlokaa, bhajans, and songs. The children will be exposed to simple yoga exercises that they can practice regularly as well as brainstorm about healthy nutrition. Of course, we will have our favorite stories from the epics (Ramayana & Mahabharata), puranaas, and different genre to provoke the curiosity and questioning in the child. When possible, we may do some hands-on experiments, arts and crafts to provide room for creativity and improve the subtle soft motor skills. Various strategies including books, and educational tools will be employed to expose the children for a vast genre of subjects. Different social skills would be encouraged through various strategies to enhance character building such as the following:
Promoting social-emotional interaction
Bonding with others through teamwork
Respecting and taking turns to speak
Developing patience and building friendships
Having opportunities to listen and learn
Encouraging peer observation for progress
Understanding responsibility and cooperation
A lot to learn and it is a life-long process that is initiated as early as possible for a firm foundation. The benefits of the program are visible when the children are enrolled for a longer time. A positive reinforcement and encouragement at home will help in accelerate the learning process.
LEARN WHILE HAVING FUN!!
Etiquette to be Followed
Information given here will help you to prepare for an enjoyable experience for your child.
We will follow strict guidelines as related to cleanliness to the extent possible with children:
Masks will be worn as necessary.
We will be cleaning up before and after we eat.
Jackets, socks and shoes will be needed when we go out to the park or go on nature walks. Extra pair of socks and clothes may be sent for emergency, just in case.
Children need to be diaper-trained.
Children undergoing diaper training will bring in the needed materials.
We follow strict vegetarian food. Please send in the same. No snacks or milk will be given at the premises. We may sometimes have goodies during certain celebrations.
Every child will have their own water bottle, a hand towel (to mitigate use of paper and learn to be globally environmentally conscious) and a backpack to keep their things.
We may be taking occasional pictures or videos – to send to parents or to put up on the website. Please let us know if you have any objection. We will try to keep that in focus though cannot guarantee.
Please let us know beforehand if the child has any allergies, asthma, bloody nose, etc. or any other health related problems. Currently, we do not have facilities to cater to the special needs of children, if any.
Health Insurance information will be required when you arrive at the premises.
Please do not send the children if they are sick. This will be followed strictly.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
